About LayerEight

LayerEight started from a simple observation: small professional firms — coaches, consultants, real-estate teams, education companies — run on the same handful of SaaS tools, but nobody owns the data layer underneath. When an integration breaks or a vendor changes an API, everything downstream falls apart and there’s no one to call.

We exist to be that call. We combine fractional CTO-level operations with a purpose-built CRM backend (SimplicitySuite) so our clients get infrastructure, web, CRM, and workflow automation under one roof — owned by them, not rented from a dozen vendors.

Philosophy

Backend-first shipping. We design the data contract and API first, then UIs and automations sit on top. This means your integrations and funnels stop breaking every time a vendor pushes an update.

Documentation-driven delivery.Schema, APIs, and workflows are documented in Git as part of every engagement. You get a living spec, not tribal knowledge locked in someone’s head.

Open-source friendly. We lean on Postgres, Next.js, and proven open-source tooling wherever it makes sense. No proprietary lock-in for the sake of a vendor relationship.
